Lawrence Wilder Comments on Deals of 2009
Lawrence Wilder was quoted in "'Cash was king' in 2009," an article which appeared in the National Post on January 27, 2010. Lawrie noted that in 2009, the market conditions created a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for companies to remove a competitor. He said that deals were diverse, ranging from mining, energy and resources to technology. Deals were subject to whether companies could manage an acquisition given the uncertain market conditions. Finally, Lawrie stated that "cash was king." Financing remained an issue and there were few share deals.
Lawrie has a securities practice that spans all manner of corporate finance, from private equity to initial public offerings to follow-on equity and debt financings. Lawrie's practice focuses on corporate finance and merger and acquisition transactions in the growth REIT and technology sectors, acting for issuers and investment banking syndicates.
